The Department of Classics at the University of Massachusetts Amherst invites applications for a one-year, temporary position at the rank of Lecturer effective Fall 2005. We seek a general classicist with demonstrated success teaching courses in classical literature in translation, courses in classical mythology, and courses in Latin and ancient Greek (a total load of 3-2). A Ph.D. is required. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the department's mentoring program for its MAT students.
