The Department of Classical Studies at Wesleyan University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track appointment in Greek literature at the rank of assistant professor to begin in July 2009. We seek a generalist with expertise in the literature and society of the Archaic or Classical period. Candidates should also be able to teach courses in Latin language and literature, as well as in classical civilization. The teaching load will be two courses per semester. The PhD must be in hand or very near completion by the time of appointment.
