The Department of Classics at The University of Winnipeg invites applications for a 12-month sessional in Classics at the rank of Assistant Professor. This appointment is effective July 1 or August 1, 2007 and is subject to budgetary approval. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. The department’s current strengths are on the Greek side and we would especially encourage applicants with interests on the Roman side. Duties could include teaching undergraduate courses in Classical Civilization, Classical Art and Architecture, and Greek or Latin. Qualifications include a completed or nearly completed Ph.D. and a demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching, research and scholarship.
