An article on the treatment of Parkinson's in the New York Daily News begins thusly:

Scoff if you will at the ancient Romans who made patients with brain disorders swim with electric eels.

This page suggests the electric eel treatment is post-Roman ... this one suggests the treatment was for a headache. I could go on and on but I highly doubt I'll find a source for the claim. Any suggestions?
